Since 30 June fashionistas have another hot spot to visit in the Russian capital now that traditional Parisian brand LANCEL has opened a new outlet at Moscow’s Mall of Russia. Rising to fame thanks to Brigitte Bardot and her legendary Bucket Bag this bag label now sets new standards both with its luxurious bag creations and its exclusive store design while elegantly bridging the gap between classics and modernity. Hoffmann Interior supported the building project right from the outset and manufactured the exclusive shop fitting.
The LANCEL store design does not reveal its treasures at first sight. It rather aims to surprise its observers with pointed details carrying them off into another world. This is ensured by valuable high-gloss looks, filigree logo emblems as well as accentuated product lighting.
Less is more
The majority of the bag line is displayed in the pigeon-hole style wall fixtures of the approx. 120 m² store. Per display niche only one style is generally staged at a time. The perfect setting for this is provided by the white chamois leather clad back wall, spotlights mounted above it with different luminous temperatures as well as bronze-plated mirror surfaces. This high-polished look was also adopted for designing the store-centre displays. Sliding doors in dark smoked oak can be slid at will across the wall fixture thereby neutralising, separating and transforming the perception of space.
The curved LANCEL logo was used as recurring design element. At times it features as a logo patch for the front-of-store bag display while at others as an elaborate detail for the display table design or the check-out counter. The latter captivates shoppers with a particularly stylish mix of materials: polished stainless steel was used for the basic structure into which is set a check-out panel made of Champagne-coloured, vegetable-tanned leather. The sides feature the logo emblem in polished stainless steel backed by a bronze mirror. Paying tribute to the Paris flagship at Place de L’Opéra is a back-lit photograph on the back wall of the check-out area, which can be changed if need be.
Style icon in focus
LANCEL is very much connected with French style icon Brigitte Bardot. Reason enough to not only name a bag collection after her but also prominently incorporate her photo into the store design. The key here is a fabric banner “trimmed” with a sheer frame of logos laser-cut from a stainless steel sheet using state-of-the-art technology. |
