Special features This project evolved across three stages. In the first stage we were commissioned by Frederic P. Rose Hall to produce approx. 100 balconies for spectators. The extraordinary design came care of star architect Fumihiko Maki whom we were also pleased to welcome at our company headquarters in Rosendahl-Holtwick. Accompanied by staff from our American partner EMI Eastern Millwork he visited our production site and gained an on-site impression of the manufacturing process that is “Made in Germany”.
This convinced him and we were also awarded the contract for the Allen Room, a concert venue with breathtaking views of Central Park. Aided by exclusive interior design jazz enthusiasts get their money’s worth here in both visual and acoustic terms. A circular array of wall elements consisting of panels arranged on top of each other visually separate the auditorium from the staircase area.
In the 3rd stage the wall and ceiling claddings were realised for Dizzy’s Jazz Café. 106 individual details were all prefabricated in Rosendahl-Holtwick piece by piece and shipped to America by container. The custom build has paid off: the walls virtually flow into the room thereby creating an exclusive ambience.
